Ecological Restoration: Rivers and Coastal Systems Advanced Course

The advanced course Ecological Restoration: Rivers and Coastal Systems will be held in Coimbra, from 21st to 25th of November, organized by researchers Maria João Feio e João Neto (MARE-University of Coimbra and Instituto de Investigação Interdisciplinar of UC).

 

 

The course Ecological Restoration: Rivers and Coastal Systems:

– has researchers , students (Ph.D. and M.Sc.) and environment technicians, as main destiny

– it covers different topics associated to ecological restoration on rivers and coastal systems, from legal aspects to riparian vegetation, fluvial connectivity, hydrology, ecosystems functioning and services, and bioremediation, applied to different aquatic systems (mountain rivers, urban, coastal sandy dunes and harbour systems)

– it is lectured by researchers from several Portuguese universities (Coimbra, Lisbon, Aveiro, Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro), other EU institutions (Basque Country, Cantabria, Imperial College London) and technicians from the Portuguese Environmental Agency

– it can be assisted on its full program, making the registration through the University of Coimbra website until the 2nd October, valued in 6 ECTS

– or under a seminar format of one or more days through a registration made in IMAR-UC website until the 11th October (http://www1.ci.uc.pt/imar/seminars/).
